Get to know Shawn

Shawn Nakano was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai'i.  He is proud of his local roots and strives to exemplify the “Aloha Spirit” in all that he does.  Shawn is a little old fashioned; he collects old bottles, vintage signs, and antique Hawaiiana.  He also believes in "old school” values where relationships are built on a handshake and “your word is your bond."  Shawn’s father instilled in him the importance of honesty in your work and your life, where you must “call your own fouls."  These principles were foundational in developing Premier Benefit Consultants and remains at the core of the company. 

Shawn has been married to his wife Lisa for almost 30 years.  They have a daughter Sydney and a son Andrew (both in their 20's), and a Chihuahua/Terrier dog named Annabelle.  When Shawn isn't working, he enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, fishing, and golfing.

Shawn Nakano has been a licensed insurance agent in Hawaii since 2002.  He originally started as an independent agency owner for State Farm and Allstate Insurance.  In 2008, Shawn partnered with Michael Lum to start Premier Benefit Consultants.  For the last 14 years, Shawn and Michael have been focused on building an insurance agency that specializes in the healthcare needs of Hawai'i’s senior citizens with Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement products.
