Get to know Mayumi

As a Premier Benefit Consultant agent, Mayumi Higa is here to help you understand all of your health insurance options and to provide excellent ongoing service once she assists you to enroll into the plan of your choice.  Mayumi offers guidance for individuals with existing Medicare health plans, those new to Medicare as well as those preparing to retire and transition from employer based health coverage to individual coverage.  Phone or video conferencing consultations are available by appointment and free of charge.  Whether you are a Medicare beneficiary, employer, physician, guardian or anyone looking to understand the complexities of Medicare, contact Mayumi and she will gladly assist you.

Mayumi was born and raised in Gifu, Japan. In Japan, she worked as a travel escort with JTB and visited over 25 countries while in charge of groups of 20 to 40 people. She moved to Hawaii in 1996 and worked for a travel agency, airline, hotel, and Japanese school. Her experiences in fast paced customer service and ever changing work environments have given her the adaptability and resourcefulness needed to help people find the right Medicare plan for their circumstances.

Mayumi’s family consists of her husband Gary, son Justin, and daughter Megan. They are members of Nakagusuku Sonjin Kai & Kuba Rosei Kai under the Hawaii United Okinawan Association. Justin is a Taiko-drummer of Chinagu Eisa Hawaii, and Megan dances with Senjukai Hawaii Frances Nakachi Ryubu Dojo. Mayumi enjoys watching the Okinawan performing arts and attends/volunteers at the annual Okinawan festival with her family, along with other events throughout the year.
